Clinical Supervision for Therapists — Accredited, Reflective & Trauma-Informed
As an AASW Accredited and APTA Registered Supervisor, I offer supervision that supports therapists, counsellors, social workers, play therapists, and allied health professionals at all stages of their career.
Hi, I'm Angie
Principal Therapist and Supervisor at The Counselling Space.
I am Mental Health Accredited Social Worker, Family Therapist and Play Therapist with over 30 years’ experience across clinical practice, leadership, supervision, and university teaching. I specialise in trauma-transformative and neurodivergent-affirming practice and supervise therapists working with people across the lifespan, including complex and high-risk presentations across Australia.

What is Clinical Supervision?
Clinical supervision is a structured, reflective professional space to think deeply about your work, strengthen ethical practice, and continue developing as a therapist.
It is not managerial oversight or performance review. Clinical supervision is a professional partnership that supports safe, thoughtful and sustainable practice.
Using a developmental lens, supervision looks different depending on where you are in your career:
-
For newer practitioners, clinical supervision may include more structured guidance, skill development, and support in building confidence.
-
For experienced clinicians, supervision often becomes a collegial space for nuanced reflection — exploring complexity, risk, clinical judgement, and professional identity.
My approach to clinical supervision is:
Trauma-Informed and Trauma-Transformative
Recognising the emotional load of complex work, attending to nervous system impact, vicarious trauma, and the relational dynamics present in both therapy and supervision.
Neurodivergent-Affirming
Honouring diverse ways of thinking, communicating, and processing. Supervision adapts to support clarity, integration, and professional growth without deficit framing.
Reflective and Integrative
Supporting you to connect theory, lived experience, intuition, and ethics in your clinical decision-making.
At its best, clinical supervision creates space to step back from urgency, reduce isolation, strengthen risk awareness, and remain grounded in ethical, responsive practice.
